Support for The Long Shadow on the Stage

Updated: Aug 30, 2020

Hi Readers! Since release day for my debut psychological thriller book The Long Shadow on the Stage is only a few days away, it was important to me to thank the people who were a huge part of my self-publishing and writing journey. This is not an exhaustive list; I’m thankful to have many supportive friends and family members, but these are a few of the people who hugely impacted this book coming to fruition.

First, of course, I must thank my husband, Zed who has sacrificed the most for me to write, edit, and self-publish a book. Not only was he okay with me spending countless nights and weekends working on my novel, but he also was okay with the financial investment that is necessary to successfully self-publish a book. Zed has been a constant source of support for me and has always supported my writing over the years. If he didn’t believe in me and think that I have the potential to someday become a full-time author, none of this would have been possible. His unwavering optimism that I could accomplish this goal and make my dreams come true is what helped me get through all the long nights, struggles, self-doubt, and anxiety.

Next, I want to thank my sister, Kate. Although she and Zed are always vying for the #1 spot, I can safely say they are both my biggest fans. Kate has been a part of my support system ever since she was little. She has always been the first one to read everything I’ve written over the years. She’s always been my cheerleader and I appreciate her support more than anything. She was one of the first people to read The Long Shadow on the Stage. Since she hasn’t read a book in years, so the fact that she read my book in a matter of days was the encouragement I needed during the writing process.

I also want to thank my parents for never doubting I could accomplish my goals and for always supporting me (emotionally and financially) over the years. I’m thankful to have parents that helped me when I needed it and pushed me to figure things out on my own when necessary. Among the many life lessons they imparted on me, my parents taught me that I could do anything if I worked hard enough and didn’t give up.

I would also like to thank Alex Noelke, who edited this novel. He had a huge part in helping me bring this novel to life, for pointing out the flaws I couldn’t see, and for providing suggestions to make my novel more coherent. Thanks for being one of the first people to read my book, for being so supportive every step of the journey, and for being a wonderful friend.

In addition, I want to thank Mandi Lynn with Stone Ridge Books for designing the beautiful cover for my book, Love Books Tours for organizing an online book tour and book reviewers for my book release week, and all my ARC reviewers and early readers.

Thank you to everyone else who played a part in my writing and self-publishing journey! The author may be the one who writes the book, but publishing isn’t possible without many other people being involved and helping throughout the process, so I appreciate the support you all have given me.
